LOCAL ISSUES & PRIORITIES

What Matters Most

Opportunities to take local action are everywhere. Let’s work together to solve challenges right here at home in Stoughton.

Safety and Accessibility

I will advocate for decisions that make it easier and safer to walk, run, and bike in Stoughton.

Clean Water, Air, and Land

Conservation bolsters economic resilience, climate resilience, and public health.

Prosperity for All

Together we can cultivate opportunities for every person to live, learn, work, and grow in Stoughton.

Sense of Place

I will act to preserve Stoughton’s rich history, cultural heritage, and unique community character.

Culture of Belonging

Every person should feel safe, welcome, and empowered to contribute in our community.

Preparedness

Our decisions today shape our ability to withstand extreme weather, flooding, drought, and more.

A BOLD VISION

Looking Ahead to the Future

01

Freedom to move.

Around the world, people live the longest where they have the freedom to move naturally. And people with somewhere safe and accessible to walk or bike are more likely to be physically active. In Stoughton, we can increase the opportunities for active transportation, and make it safer, so that individuals truly have the freedom to choose their mode of travel.

02

Local solutions. Local benefits.

Local solutions like rooftop solar, active transportation, and the electrification of buildings and fleet vehicles will immediately result in cleaner air and water right here at home. Plus, we can reap big economic benefits with investments in municipal-owned solar, reducing the city’s yearly operating expenses which are capped by state law.

03

Housing to meet our needs.

To up housing inventory, we need compact and mixed-use development, diverse housing types, and accessible housing for all income and ability levels. New housing development must prioritize sustainability and energy efficiency upgrades to mitigate the impacts of current and future threats such as flooding, extreme temperatures, and poor air quality.
